R.E.A.L. TALK Collective
Our CEO has been known to reflect often “When they win, we win!” Our organization has long been vested in supporting “youth at - promise.” We flip the proverbial violence prevention notion of risk containment to a more strength based narrative of human possibility. We’d rather beg the question, what happened to you versus what’s wrong with you. Vesting time, energy and attention in “prevention” narratives in Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities limits the imagination of cultural identity, joy, leadership development, creativity, global exposure, healing and most importantly today—economic mobility.
It has been our experience that showing genuine care and concern with an ear for listening beyond what is spoken. Listen to the heart of the matter.
This program in it’s pilot phase garnered prior support from Alderman Sawyer, Josephine’s Southern Cooking, Dr. Obari Cartman, Grammy Award winning artist, Sir the Baptist, Teamwork Englewood, the Chicago Fire Department, Power 92.3, DJ Allstyles, and Fashion Designer, Barbara Bates.
